International lawyer Chris Parsons is cycling 4,500 km in 45 days to raise funds for widows in India, on behalf of The Loomba Foundation. The cycling started from Kanyakumari and has reached Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Against the target of US $450,000 over 70 % has already been raised by ‘Cycling for Widows 2020’, an initiative by The Loomba Foundation.  The project is supported by Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS), Tech Mahindra Foundation, UPL Limited, OYO rooms, Healthifyme, Godrej, and Gutenberg Communications. After covering cities such as Bangalore, Hyderabad and Nagpur, the current stop for the expedition is Varanasi. 

The Loomba Foundation hosted an event in Varanasi to welcome Chris Parsons. Many widow beneficiaries, who were supported in skilling with the funds raised by Chris Parsons, welcomed  him. On this occasion widows showcased garments and other products made by them. The Loomba Foundation aims to empower over 5000 beneficiaries in Jammu and Kashmir with this project, who will be provided vocational training in tourism, hospitality, health, tailoring and food processing.
